Job Status: Full Time

1. Objective:

The primary objective of the Technical Sales Engineer role is to translate and explain highly complex technical information to customers and clients, focusing on informing how our products can solve customer specific problems.

2. Roles and Responsibilities:

Account Management

  • Focus on project specific growth in strategic product groups.
  • Maintain relationship with customer base, be the voice of the company-related technical sales function.
  • Using technical skills to demonstrate to potential customers the usefulness of the product or service and how it may suit the customer better than competing products.
  • Work on after-sales support services and provide technical back-up as required.
  • Establish the technical needs of the customer and suggest appropriate products.
  • Update records of customer communications and contact information.

Market Impact

  • Review strategic customer base and generate good product fits to incumbent product supply and offering.
  • Work to establish short/medium/long term sales and project targets to maintain strong pipeline for continued growth.
  • Focus on Port to Port offering packages to customers to supply the entire product range.
  • Search for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximize client potential in designated regions.
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education.

Market Research

  • Follow market for Competitor Offerings and Results
  • Collaborate with the design, production, engineering, or research and/or development departments of the company to determine how products and services could be made or modified to suit the needs of the customer.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

3. Role Requirements:

Educational

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, IT or related field, preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field.

Experience

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of sales or marketing experience

Skills

  • Technical knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of how the company products work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to identify and follow up on leads.
  • Exceptional skills in selling products and closing deals.
  • Knowledge of sales promotion techniques.
  • Excellent presentation skills and a professional appearance.

4. Safety Responsibilities:

  • Follow Safety standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Participate in the Total Continuous Improvement program
  • Attend all employee Safety Meetings
  • Use prescribed Personal Protective Equipment
  • Observe restricted areas and all warning signs

  • Work environment varies depending on job function, site and activity. This role will generally be exposed to both indoor office working conditions, as well as, warehouse conditions. Warehouse area provides protection from outside weather/elements in most cases but is not climate controlled. Adequate lighting and ventilation exist in all areas of the facility.

Required to hear, listen and communicate with others on production floor while machinery is operating.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
